Brad Travis is the chief meteorolgist for WAFF TV in Huntsville, Alabama. Travis grew up on the  Great Plains of south central Kansas along the Chishlom Trail in Tornado Alley. Storm chasing has always been one of his passions.

During severe weather Travis devotes all of his efforts to keep the North Alabama region safe with WAFF Live Doppler 48 Radar, VIPIR and the 48 StormTeam.

Travis attended the University of Kansas where he received his B.S. in Atmospheric Science in May of 1995. In 2005, he was awarded the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.

He joined the WAFF TV Channel 48 StormTeam in November of 1996. Before coming to Alabama he was the Chief Meteorologist in North Platte, Nebraska.
